Drone Survey & Security
Humber Estuary

Canopy is based in Hessle, East Yorkshire. Every Humber Estuary site — from Immingham to Grimsby, Hull to Goole — is within our local operating area. No mobilisation overhead. No unfamiliar operating environment. The Humber corridor is Canopy country.

The Humber Estuary handles 20% of UK energy imports. It hosts the UK's largest port by tonnage, the world's largest offshore wind hub and critical CCS infrastructure serving the national net-zero programme. The density of high-value assets in this corridor — and the drone threat they face — is unmatched anywhere else in the UK.

Local Knowledge

Humber Estuary Operating Experience

Canopy operates in the Humber corridor. We know the tidal conditions, the active aerodrome environments at Humberside Airport, the ATC coordination requirements for Humber airspace and the contractor protocols at major Humber industrial sites. No learning curve.

No Mobilisation Cost

Based 30 Miles from Every Priority Site

Every major Humber CNI site — VPI Immingham, Humber Refinery, Port of Immingham, Siemens Gamesa, Port of Hull, HMP Humber — is within 30 miles of our Hessle headquarters. No overnight accommodation, no long-distance mobilisation, no inflated costs.

Humber Priority Sites

We Know Your Neighbours

VPI Immingham CHP. Humber Refinery Complex. Port of Immingham. Viking CCS Pipeline. Grimsby Offshore Wind Hub. Siemens Gamesa Blade Factory. Port of Hull. These are the sites Canopy is built to serve. Your security and survey requirements are our primary focus.

Full Service Locally

Survey and Security Combined

Whether you need thermal survey of your building estate, LiDAR mapping of your site, digital twin generation for asset management, or counter-UAS defeat for your perimeter — Canopy delivers all of it from a single local supplier. One point of contact, integrated data, coordinated programme.

Rapid Response

Urgent Survey and Incident Support

Post-incident structural assessment, urgent thermal survey following plant failure or time-critical inspection for insurance or planning purposes — Canopy can mobilise to Humber sites within 24 hours for urgent requirements.

CCS Programme Alignment

Net Zero Infrastructure Ready

The Humber is the UK's leading industrial decarbonisation cluster. The Viking CCS pipeline corridor, the Humber Zero programme and the Equinor and bp CCS projects all require survey, monitoring and security capability locally. Canopy is already here.

What operators need to know

Which sites in the Humber corridor does Canopy serve?+
Canopy serves all major CNI and industrial sites in the Humber Estuary corridor. This includes VPI Immingham CHP, the Humber Refinery Complex, Port of Immingham (ABP), Port of Hull (ABP), Siemens Gamesa's blade manufacturing facility at Alexandra Dock, the Grimsby Offshore Wind Hub, the Viking CCS pipeline corridor, HMP Humber, the National Grid substation network in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, and the offshore wind O&M bases at Grimsby and Hull. We also serve commercial and industrial estates across East Yorkshire, the East Riding and North Lincolnshire.
What is the mobilisation time for Humber sites?+
For standard planned survey and inspection engagements, Canopy mobilises to Humber sites in three to five working days — allowing time for RAMS documentation, insurance certificates, ATC notifications and site access compliance. For urgent requirements including post-incident assessment, insurance survey or time-critical inspection, we can mobilise to Humber sites within 24 hours subject to availability and weather conditions.
Does Canopy have experience with the Humber's active aerodrome environment?+
Yes. The Humber Estuary includes complex airspace with Humberside Airport, Lincolnshire airspace and the active aerodrome environments at several industrial sites. Canopy has specific experience managing ATC coordination for drone operations in the Humber corridor, including NOTAM filing, drone assist consultation and pre-flight ATC notification protocols.
Can Canopy serve sites on both sides of the Humber?+
Yes. Canopy serves sites on both the North Lincolnshire side of the estuary — including Immingham, Grimsby and Scunthorpe — and the East Yorkshire and Hull side. For sites requiring operations on both sides of the estuary, we plan each zone as a separate flight area.
Does Canopy offer annual survey programmes for Humber operators?+
Yes. Annual thermal survey, LiDAR and photogrammetry programmes are available for Humber operators with multi-site estates. Repeat surveys at 12-month intervals enable change detection against the baseline dataset and provide the documented evidence trail required for SECR reporting, insurance purposes and NIS2 compliance. Preferential rates are available for annual programme clients.
